HoloMoves within the Healthcare Innovation Ecosystem

Healthcare faces major challenges: staff shortages, increasing demand for care and the need to work smarter and more effectively. Innovation is essential here – but only if it really lands in practice.

Within the Healthcare Innovation Ecosystem project, HoloMoves is actively contributing to the development and application of innovative healthcare solutions. As a partner, we contribute our expertise in immersive technology, such as our Mixed Reality (MR) therapeutic movement solutions.

Together with the other partners within the ecosystem, we are building a strong bridge between technology and healthcare practice. By sharing knowledge, developing pilots and validating results, we accelerate the implementation of innovative applications in everyday care.

Our role and approach
Within this ecosystem, HoloMoves focuses on developing, testing and implementing digital interventions that contribute to rehabilitation, mental health and vitality of the elderly. Through deployment in living labs and living labs, we work closely with healthcare professionals, clients and other partners. In this way we ensure that innovations not only work technically, but also actually connect to practice.

Where are we now?
Several pathways are currently underway within the HIE project:

  • Successful demo day at AxionContinu
The demo day generated a lot of enthusiasm and valuable insights. Due to a change in management, the next step is currently still pending.
  • Living labs fall prevention in the neighborhood
In several neighborhoods, including Zuilen and Voordorp (including at ‘the third half’), living labs have started around fall prevention. Here, in cooperation with the HU, we are testing our applications in practice and simultaneously working on the development of a targeted fall prevention app in cooperation with the HKU.
  • InteraktContour living lab starts (April)
In early April, a new living lab will start in which we will continue to build together on applicable innovations within long-term NAH care.
  • Trial Quarijn in preparation
Another step in scaling up and broadening the deployment of our solutions.

These pathways provide not only data and insights, but also direct user experiences from the field. As one participant aptly put it:

“Oh, this makes me fanatic and I want to do this more often!”

From innovation to impact
An important part of our contribution is lowering barriers to the use of technology in healthcare. By iteratively testing, improving and collaborating within the ecosystem, we accelerate the step from innovation to actual impact.

Why this matters
We believe that technology can make healthcare more humane, fun and effective – if applied properly. Within the Healthcare Innovation Ecosystem, we are building solutions together that are not only innovative, but above all used.
